INTRODUCTION

INDEPENDENT Pharmacy is where real community pharmacy happens. Join our focused team and make a real difference.

A Foundation Year placement at Hive Pharmacy will not only prepare the student to become a pharmacist, but will also equip them in the aspects of business management.

Our programme is designed to give you the perfect foundation, providing you with the training and support you need to develop your skills, build your clinical and management knowledge and develop you as an all round pharmacist. We offer real hands on experience in real world pharmacy situations where you will working directly with the owner. We are passionate about pharmacy and with a real interest in training pharmacists fit for the future. With excellent support from colleagues who take care of the day to day running of the pharmacy, you will participate in providing a full range of enhanced services.

DESIGNATED SUPERVISOR

The Student will be working with a highly experienced pharmacist and entrepreneur. A long history of students, your designated supervisor is able to train and advise graduates effectively. The experience will be more challenging but also more rewarding than a training year spent at a multiple under a regular salaried pharmacist who almost certainly does not want you there!

TRAINING

Training is based on the GPhC standards. Full support will be given to your learning and development with weekly protected study time within your contracted hours of 40 hours/week.

In house training is delivered by your individual designated supervisor under the guidance of the Propharmace tutor training programme. This is supplemented by monthly Propharmace training sessions with your pre-reg peer group.

The tutor will also select the most important and useful CPPE courses and encourage completion of these by the student. This leads to successful declaration of competence (DoC) certificates.

SUCCESSES

Our past trainee pharmacists are all excelling in their careers. A mixture of Pharmacy management at Independents and Boots, NHS Hospital Pharmacy, and even Academia.
